Growing Tree Liberia gGmbH

managed by J. Galvanek

About us

Growing Tree Liberia gGmbH is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Berlin, Germany. GTL is run by a small team working closely and collaboratively with partners in Liberia. We seek to assist Liberians to achieve a more sustainable future. GTL is in the process of establishing a child care complex that will provide residential care for vulnerable and neglected children, in particular orphans, at a site 45 minutes north of Monrovia in Bomi County. In the long term, Growing Tree Child Care Program plans to establish a foster care system linked to the child care complex in order to offer children a more permanent home and an individual family to care for them. GTL also provides school fees for 19 children in the impoverished downtown Monrovia neighborhood of Clay Street, allowing children to attend school who would otherwise not be able to.

Water Pump in Sass Town!

  J. Galvanek  22 September 2020 at 11:20 PM

In spite of all the hardship in 2020 in Liberia due to Covid-19, we have still managed to make great progress on our project in Sass Town. Thanks to the support of the German Embassy in Monrovia, Growing Tree Child Care Program has installed a water pump on the land of our future child care center.  This provides an easy water source for the crops that we are growing on the land and gives the villagers of Sass Town a second water pump for their daily use.  It will also provide the main water source for the center in the future.

Although the foundation of the perimeter wall has been laid, we still need need your help to get the wall fully built.  If you can spare a little today to help move this project along, we would greatly appreciate it!
