About us

International Society for Human Rights Latvian Section is non-governmental organisation that works in Latvia as a national section of ISHR.

Our main principal: ISHR and its Latvian section recognises as innate and inalienable the rights which protect the individual from arbitrary acts by the State and legal systems. ISHR's principal objective is to encourage international observance and respect for these fundamental rights of human beings, as laid out in binding international law, which protect the individual and group rights of ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities.

Our target is to work with problems related to human rights violations that are done in Latvia or in other country against Latvian citizens by state of Latvia, other state, natural or legal person.

Our task is to inform Latvian citizens about human rights situation in country, provide legal assistance as much as possible, share humanitarian aid- clothing, footwear, food, household stuff; educate our citizens about human rights.
