ACOSADE

About us

ACOSADE (Associação Comunitária para Saúde e Desenvolvimento) is a non-profit, Mozambican NGO (Non-Governmental-Organization) founded in 2003 and located in Chicumbane in the province of Gaza in South-Mozambique.
As ACOSADE, our aim is to give support to the development of rural communities in order to decrease poverty.
Our main areas of intervention are:
• Protection of the environment
• Education
• Rural development
• HIV/AIDS
Since our geographical focus is on the south of Mozambique and especially on the province of Gaza, we are in good knowledge of the local living situation, problems and challenges.
Consequently we usually support local cooperative societies and associations. As a result of our colleague’s intensive and locally connected commitment, our projects are always welcomed by the local population. The huge participation, we use to receive from our target group, clearly stands out in our projects.
Mostly we conceptualize project proposals for a general and sustainable improvement of the local living situation. These projects are supported and financed by various international organizations and realized by the members of ACOSADE.
To guarantee a strong contact with the target group and efficient results, our projects use to be rather small and take place in the surrounding communities of Chicumbane.
