About us
peace brigades international (pbi) is an international grassroots NGO that has promoted nonviolence and protected human rights since 1981. We send international volunteers to areas of conflict, providing protective accompaniment to human rights defenders threatened by political violence. We also facilitate other peace-building initiatives.
Our work is based on the principles of non-partisanship and non-interference in the internal affairs of the organisations we accompany.
The German section of pbi offers volunteering opportunities in our project countries, local groups and at our office in Hamburg. We organize various events throughout the year and hold an education project for schools. We seek donors for all of our activities. Liebe Spender, bei Projekten, bei denen Spendengelder über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg nicht angefordert wurden, sieht das Gesetz vor, dass die Gelder von der gemeinnützigen gut.org AG (Betreiberin von betterplace.org) zeitnah für deren satzungsmäßige Zwecke verwendet werden müssen.
