Triathlon for Children of Côte d'Ivoire

Dear all, on Sunday, 26 June 2011, we (Giovanni, Stefano and Francesco) will be trying to swim 1.5 km, bike 40 km and run another 10 km in the Heinerman triathlon event in Darmstadt, Germany (http://www.heinerman.de). Since we are not fully satisfied with just these three legs and would like to add a fourth one and use this opportunity for charity fund raising, so as to have another “good and strong” incentive to make it through those great but oh so painful hours!

Thus, we would like to raise money for a project that is fighting school drop-out in the Yopougon slums, Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire), which is run by the NGO Terres des Hommes. More precisely, donations channeled to the project “Casa del Sole” will be used to buy school equipments for the kids of the slums. We personally know the people in charge of the project on the ground and can vouch for their commitment, competence and integrity. To make a lasting impact we hope to raise as much money as possible, possibly much more than officially required as a minimum goal. The more the merrier! However, we are of course grateful for every amount you can spare. Every euro does matter!

Donations for the project are not tax deductible. To be tax deductible projects have to be registered in Germany. This is a tedious process which is not possible for all project initiators.
