What’s it about
An Arts Outreach Programme for disadvantaged teenagers in the rural township of Philippi (Cape Town) is being run by the South African Education and Environment Project (SAEP), and we need your help! We need to raise funds to buy three African djembe drums (at 130 Euro per drum) for dance and music workshops for these disadvantaged students. These workshops will give the students a focus and an uplifting creative outlet that they would, otherwise, not receive.
That's why I, and the students of Philippi, would be very grateful if you donated to my project now!
Thank you for your support!

Djembe Drum the ideal mate for marimbas
K. McIntosh posted this update on May 19, 2011.
One of SAEP's most successful arts programmes has been its two marimba groups. The djembe is the perfect instrumental complement for marimbas. I hope we can raise the funds to buy these drums, since they would make such a difference for the energetic and talented students who are learning and performing in our township high school music groups.
