Taller Leñateros is a printmaking and publishing cooperative based out of Chiapas, Mexico. Operated by indigenous Mayan women and men, Taller Leñateros was the first collective to create books completely bound and formed by Mayan hands in 400 years. The men and women of Taller Leñateros have resurrected archaic methods to create beautifully constructed notebooks and prints.
New Forest Earth would like to buy journals, posters and postcards from the Taller Leñateros cooperative. We will sell the products at colleges and fairs around Virginia, so your donation will be recycled and used to support Taller Leñateros again and again. Not only will the funds they receive greatly support the Taller Leñateros cooperative, but it will also promote Mayan culture and customs in Mexico and abroad.
New Forest Earth needs your help. Any donation, small or large, modest or great will help (and will be greatly appreciated).
Only by your generosity can we accomplish anything.
