Ihr wisst alle, sei es durch hitzige Diskussionen im Deutschunterricht, bei einem Glas Rotwein im Jüdischen Viertel in Budapest oder zu später Stunde im Goblins in Bratislava, dass Gleichberechtigung für mich SEHR wichtig ist. 

Zu meinem Geburtstag möchte ich dieses Jahr die Gelegenheit nutzen, nicht nur über die Dinge zu sprechen, die mir wichtig sind, sondern auch etwas zu bewegen. Quasi put my money where my mouth is – oder in diesem Fall: your money ✨

„Jin, Jiyan, Azadî“ – Frau, Leben, Freiheit. Diese Parole hat seine Wurzeln in der kurdischen Frauenbewegung und wurde insbesondere durch die Proteste im Iran nach dem Tod von Jina Mahsa Amini im Jahr 2022 weltweit bekannt. Er steht für den Kampf für Freiheit, Selbstbestimmung und Gleichberechtigung.

Ich wäre heute nicht die (30- jährige) Frau, die ich heute bin, wenn ich nicht die Möglichkeiten und Freiheiten hätte, die für viele Mädchen und Frauen im Iran noch immer keine Selbstverständlichkeit sind.  Deshalb würde ich mich riesig freuen, wenn wir statt Geschenken gemeinsam etwas bewegen könnten!

You all know, whether its from heated discussions in German class, over a glass of red wine in District VII in Budapest, or late night discussions at Goblins in Bratislava; gender equality is VERY important to me.

This year I would like to use my birthday to not only talk about the things I care about but to actually make a difference and put my money where my mouth is- or in this case: your money ✨ 

„Jin, Jiyan, Azadî“ – Woman, Life, Freedom.  This chant has its roots in the Kurdisch women's movement and gained worldwide attention during the 2022 protests in Iran following the death of Jina Mahsa Amini. It stand for the fight for freedom, self-determination, and equality. 

I wouldn't be the (30 year old) woman I am today without the freedoms and opportunities that many girls and women in Iran do not have.  That's why I'd be over the moon if instead of gifts, we could come together to make a difference!
