Hi, we’re Patrick & Peter, two cycling and outdoor enthusiasts from the Schwobaländle in southern Germany. From August 15th to 30th, we’ll take on the Silk Road Mountain Race — the toughest unsupported bike races in the world.
The route covers 2,000 kilometers and a staggering 30,000 meters of elevation gain, taking us through the breathtaking and remote mountains of Kyrgyzstan, with mountain passes reaching 4,000 meters above sea level.
Your donation can help provide up to 35 children with cancer in Kyrgyzstan with essential medication and medical supplies for up to 6 months.
About the Project
Hi, we’re Patrick & Peter, two cycling and outdoor enthusiasts from the Schwobaländle in southern Germany. From August 15th to 30th, we’ll take on the Silk Road Mountain Race — the toughest unsupported bike races in the world.
The route covers 2,000 kilometers and a staggering 30,000 meters of elevation gain, taking us through the breathtaking and remote mountains of Kyrgyzstan, with mountain passes reaching 4,000 meters above sea level.
Participating in this race is a privilege. We’re healthy and we have the resources to take on such a challenge. That’s why we feel a strong desire to give something back to the people in this country that’s hosting us — especially to the children who are fighting a much harder battle: the fight against cancer.
With your support, we aim to raise funds to provide urgently needed medication for children undergoing cancer treatment in the cities of Bishkek and Osh — medication that many families simply cannot afford on their own.
We would be deeply grateful if you joined us in helping these children in their race against time — giving them a real shot at a healthy future.

Why Your Help Matters
In Kyrgyzstan, children in public hospitals often face a critical shortage of life-saving medication and medical supplies. Public funding is limited, leaving families to carry the financial burden on their own — often with devastating consequences.
The German voluntary association "Umai – Help for Kyrgyzstan e.V." (based in Stuttgart) has long supported local aid projects in cooperation with the Kyrgyz foundation "Help is Easy" (Помогать Легко). Together, they are committed to improving pediatric cancer care in the country.
This fundraising campaign will go directly toward purchasing medication and essential supplies (such as catheters) for children in need.
What Your Donation Can Do
What Your Donation Can Do
- Our goal is to raise 10,200 EUR – enough to support 30–35 children receiving treatment in the hospitals in Bishkek and Osh.
- As we already reached the previous goal (thank you so much!!!), we can try to reach 20.400€. This would cover the medical costs for 1 YEAR!
- Good to know: 300 EUR is enough to supply one child with medication for up to six months. 600€ for a whole year.
This aid will significantly reduce the financial pressure on families and ensure children in active treatment receive the care they need.
Transparency & Local Impact
Once the fundraising is complete, 100% of the funds will be transferred by Umai to "Help is Easy" in Kyrgyzstan. The foundation will oversee the purchase and distribution of the medication to local hospitals. All distributions will be documented and reported back to Umai to ensure full transparency.
A few days before the race, we’ll also have the chance to visit the oncology ward in Osh, meet the children and their families, and speak with local representatives from "Help is Easy." Families will also be involved in monitoring the distribution process.

Mit deiner Spende können wir bis zu 35 krebskranke Kinder in Kirgisistan mit Medikamenten und medizinischen Hilfsmitteln für bis zu 6 Monate versorgen.
Über das Projekt
Wir sind Patrick & Peter, zwei Rad- und Outdoorbegeisterte aus dem Schwobaländle in Süddeutschland. Vom 15. bis 30. August 2025 nehmen wir am Silk Road Mountain Race teil – dem härtesten "unsupported" Radrennen der Welt.
Die Strecke führt über 2.000 Kilometer und 30.000 Höhenmeter durch die atemberaubenden, abgelegensten Berglandschaften Kirgisistans, mit Pässen auf bis zu 4.000 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel.
Die Teilnahme an diesem Rennen ist ein großes Privileg. Wir sind gesund und haben die Möglichkeiten, uns dieser Herausforderung zu stellen. Deshalb möchten wir etwas zurückgeben – an die Menschen in diesem Land, das uns für dieses Abenteuer empfängt. Besonders an die Kinder, die einen viel härteren Kampf führen: den Kampf gegen Krebs.
Mit eurer Unterstützung möchten wir Spenden sammeln, um lebenswichtige Medikamente für krebskranke Kinder in den Städten Bischkek und Osch bereitzustellen – Medikamente, die sich viele Familien ohne Hilfe schlicht nicht leisten können.
Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn ihr uns helft, diesen Kindern im Rennen gegen die Zeit beizustehen – und ihnen so eine echte Chance auf eine gesunde Zukunft zu ermöglichen.
Warum eure Hilfe wichtig ist
In Kirgisistan herrscht in öffentlichen Krankenhäusern oft ein akuter Mangel an lebensnotwendigen Medikamenten und medizinischem Material für krebskranke Kinder. Die öffentliche Finanzierung reicht nicht aus – viele Familien müssen die Kosten selbst tragen, was sie häufig in existenzielle Not bringt.
Der ehernamtliche Verein „Umai – Hilfe für Kirgistan e.V.“ aus Stuttgart unterstützt seit Jahren gemeinsam mit der kirgisischen Stiftung „Help is Easy“ (Помогать Легко) verschiedene Hilfsprojekte vor Ort – unter anderem auch im Bereich der Kinderonkologie.
Unsere Spendenaktion fließt direkt in den Kauf von Medikamenten und Hilfsmitteln (z. B. Kathetern) für betroffene Kinder.
Was deine Spende bewirkt
- Unser Ziel: 10.200 EUR – genug, um 30–35 Kinder in Bischkek und Osch während ihrer Behandlung zu unterstützen.
- Da wir unser bisheriges Spendenziel bereits erreicht haben (vielen, lieben Dank!!), können wir versuchen 20.400€ zu sammeln, was den medizinischen Bedarf für ein ganzes Jahr decken würde!
- Gut zu wissen: 300 EUR reichen aus, um ein Kind für bis zu sechs Monate mit Medikamenten zu versorgen. 600 EUR für ein ganzes Jahr.
Diese Hilfe entlastet die Familien nicht nur finanziell, sondern sichert auch, dass die Kinder während der aktiven Therapie zuverlässig versorgt werden.
Transparenz & Wirkung vor Ort
Nach Abschluss der Spendenaktion überweist Umai 100 % der Spendensumme an die Stiftung „Help is Easy“ in Kirgisistan. Diese kümmert sich um den Einkauf und die Verteilung der Medikamente in den Krankenhäusern. Alles wird sorgfältig dokumentiert und an Umai zurückgemeldet – transparent und nachvollziehbar.
Einige Tage vor dem Rennen werden wir zudem die Onkologie-Abteilung in Osch besuchen, um die Kinder und Familien persönlich kennenzulernen und uns mit Vertretern von „Help is Easy“ auszutauschen. Auch die Eltern werden in die Überwachung der Verteilung eingebunden.

Hi it’s Patrick reaching put to you from KM 560 from the race. A big THANK YOU to all donators till now! We already reached our recent goal. As we have still 1,5 weeks to the finish line, we double the goal to 20.400€ which will cover the costs for the medication for a whole year. Can we reached it? :)
Hi hier ist Patrick und ich melde mich von Kilometer 560 im Rennen. Ein dickes DANKESCHÖN für alle die. Sieht gespendet haben! Wir haben unser ursprüngliches Ziel bereits erreicht. Da wir noch 1,5 Wochen zu fahren haben bis zum Ziel, verdoppeln wir das Spendenziel auf 20.400€. Dies würde den Bedarf an Medikamenten für ein ganzes Kahr decken. Können wir das schaffen? :)
