What’s it about
On May 1st, I will ride the Classic Tour (103 km) of the Radrennen Eschborn-Frankfurt – not for competition, but for a cause that has become deeply personal: supporting children whose lives have been shattered by the war in Ukraine.
My wife’s family is Ukrainian. We have witnessed the heartbreak up close — children fleeing bombings, families torn apart, and young lives forced to rebuild from nothing.
Some of our loved ones lived with us in Germany for over 18 months before bravely returning to Ukraine, while others are still searching for safety. Seeing this suffering first-hand made it impossible for me to look away.
It made me realize: I must act as belief alone is not enough. I must do what I can — however small — to bring hope.
Since the beginning of the war, I’ve tried to turn every endurance event into a message of solidarity: from the IRONMAN Frankfurt to several Frankfurt Marathons. For this commitment, I was deeply honored to receive the 2024 Philip Frieze and Philip Gordon Award, recognizing humanitarian leadership, community service, and the fight for justice.
This recognition has only strengthened my resolve to support the true heroes — the Ukrainian people — who continue to need our help now more than ever.
This time, I ride for the youngest victims — the children — who deserve nothing less than a future without fear. I dedicate this ride — and every effort — to the brave children of Ukraine, whose resilience inspires us all to keep believing in a better tomorrow.
If you can, please support my fundraising campaign for humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children.
Every donation is more than just a number — it’s a message to the Ukrainians:
A message that we stand with them.
That we see them.
That we will not leave them behind.
Let’s show them they are not alone.
Let’s keep riding.
Let’s keep believing.
Let’s keep moving forward — together.
P.S.: Donations for this project can be made until the end of May 2025.
