What’s it about
This year, I’m once again lacing up my shoes for a cause close to my heart—and in loving memory of my friend Ralph, who passed away far too early but whose passion for running and helping others lives on. On October 27, I’ll be running in the Frankfurt Marathon as part of a relay team for a special memorial run in Ralph’s honor while raising funds to support children and families affected by the war in Ukraine.
As you may know, my family is half-Ukrainian, and the ongoing war is deeply personal. Our in-laws have returned to Ukraine, where they witnessed firsthand the devastation, heartbreak, and daily struggles caused by the war. Through the SOS-Kinderdörfer project, “Nothilfe für Kinder und Familien in der Ukraine,” we aim to provide essential food, shelter, and psychological support to those whose lives have been torn apart.
This isn’t just another race; it’s a tribute to Ralph’s memory and a race for hope. Every step we take, and every euro you donate brings us closer to offering these children a safer future. Last year, your incredible generosity made a significant impact through our Ironman and Frankfurt Marathon charity runs. With the war worsening, we need your support more than ever.
Let’s stand together, run together, and ensure that compassion and kindness prevail in the darkest of times. Help us honor Ralph’s memory by showing the children of Ukraine that they are not forgotten. Your contribution can make a lasting difference.
Every contribution counts for the kids in Ukraine.
Thanks.
Kind regards,
Andreas
