Roland Runs The Desert - Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe

Liebe Freunde,  

endlich ist es wieder soweit – ich laufe wieder in der Wüste, genaugenommen in der Wüste Gobi. Im Juni begebe ich mich in die Mongolei und werde dort im üblichen Format 250 km zu Fuß und selbstversorgt eine Woche lang unterwegs sein. Vier Marathons, ein Ultra-Marathon und ein wenig Auslaufen auf 6 Etappen aufgeteilt, einzig ein Zelt und Wasser werden den Läufern gestellt, den Rest, Nahrung, Sicherheitsausrüstung, Kleidung etc. tragen wir. Hört sich furchtbar an? Ist es nicht. 

 

Für mich bedeutet dies:  Eat – Sleep – Run (ein echter Luxus)

In diesem Jahr treibt mich ein sehr besonderes, ein sehr persönliches Anliegen an, die 250 Km unbeschadet zu überstehen und wohlbehalten ins Ziel zu kommen. 

Diesem Anliegen will ich diesen Spendenaufruf ausschließlich widmen, dieses Anliegen dient mir als ganz persönliche Motivation.  

 

Alle gesammelten Spenden sammle ich zugunsten der „Deutschen Hirntumorhilfe e.V.“ 
 

Eine gemeinnützige, ausschließlich spendenfinanzierte Organisation, die sich seit 1998 für die Förderung der Neuroonkologie und die Verbesserung der Versorgung von Hirntumorpatienten einsetzt. Entsprechend ihrem Motto „Wissen schafft Zukunft“ informiert die Organisation über aktuelle Standards und Fortschritte in der Therapie von Hirntumoren. 

Das klare Ziel: Die Krankheit Hirntumor muss heilbar werden – so schnell wie möglich.

Warum also dieser Spendenzweck? Uns hat das Jahr 2024 ziemlich unvorbereitet mit einer echt üblen Überraschung bei unserer Tochter begrüßt. 

Dank der unschätzbar wertvollen und bedingungslosen Unterstützung von lieben Freunden konnten wir schnellstmöglich agieren und glücklicherweise verlief die neurochirurgische Operation mit anschließender Reha im allerbesten Sinne. In dieser Zeit hatte ich auch das Glück, auf die Hilfe der Deutschen Hirntumorhilfe persönlich zu vertrauen, sie versorgte uns mit allen notwendigen und verifizierten Informationen. Ein weiterer toller Begleiter auf dem Weg, den wir bis hierher gegangen sind und gehen. 

 

Wie könnt Ihr spenden? Es gibt drei sehr einfache Wege: 

1.     Hier – jetzt – direkt auf  betterplace.org! Alle Spenden, die ihr über diesen Spendenaufruf tätigt, gehen direkt an die Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V. 

Der Spendenaufruf ist ab jetzt geöffnet und wird noch bis ca. Ende Juli online bleiben. 

2.     Spende je Km. 

Nach mehreren erfolgreich gefinishten Multi-Stage-Ultras wollt ihr immer noch „nur“ auf die tatsächliche Laufleistung setzen? OK. Hierfür schickt mir bitte eine persönliche Nachricht (DM, WhatsApp, E-Mail) und gebt mir Euren individuellen Faktor an. Hier ein Beispiel: 

„Ich spende 2,00 € je gelaufenen km. Bedeutet bei 250 km Gesamtleistung insgesamt 500,00 €“. In diesem Fall werde ich euch nach Abschluss des Rennens kontaktieren und Ihr solltet dann Eure Spende ebenfalls hier auf  betterplace.org für diesen Spendenaufruf tätigen. 

3.    Spende nur bei Zieleinlauf 

Ihr wollt nur spenden, wenn ich das Ziel erreiche – ein DNF (did not finish) zählt nicht? Analog zu 2. Schreibt ihr mir ebenfalls eine kurze Nachricht (DM, WhatsApp, E-Mail), z.B. „Ich spende 150,00 € als Finisher-Spende“. Auch in diesem Fall werde ich euch – natürlich nur nach erfolgreichem – Zieleinlauf kontaktieren und euch in die Pflicht nehmen, die zugesagte Spende auf  betterplace.org  zu platzieren.

Dear friends!  

Finally - I'm running in the desert again, specifically in the Gobi Desert. In June I will fly to Mongolia and will be running there in the usual 250km format on foot and self-sufficiently for a week. At least four marathons, one ultra-marathon and a little running in the end are divided into 6 stages. Only a tent and water are provided to the runners, the rest, food, safety equipment, clothing, etc. we carry. Sounds terrible? It is not. 

 

For me this means: Eat – Sleep – Run (a real luxury)

This year I am driven by a very special, very personal concern to survive the 250 km unscathed and reach the finish-line safely. 

I want to dedicate this appeal for donations exclusively to this cause; this cause also serves as a very personal motivation for me. 

 

I collect all donations for the benefit of the “Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V.” (German Brain Tumor Aid) 

A non-profit, entirely donation-funded organization that has been committed to promoting neuro-oncology and improving care for brain tumor patients since 1998. In keeping with its motto “Knowledge creates the future”, the organization provides information about current standards and advances in the treatment of brain tumors. 

The clear goal: The disease brain tumor must be curable – as quickly as possible.

So why this fundraising purpose? The year 2024 greeted us rather unpleasantly with a really bad surprise for our daughter. 

Thanks to the invaluable and unconditional support of dear friends, we were able to act as quickly as possible and fortunately the neurosurgical operation and subsequent rehabilitation went in the best possible way. During this time, I was also lucky enough to be able to personally rely on the help of the German Brain Tumor Aid; they provided us with all the necessary and verified information. Another great companion on the path we have taken to get here and are still on 

 

How can you donate now? There are three very simple ways: 

1.     Here – now – directly on  betterplace.org! All donations you make through this fundraising appeal go directly to the Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V. 

The call for donations is now open and will remain online until around the end of July. 

2.     Donation per km. 

After successfully completing several multi-stage ultras, you still “just” want to focus on the actual mileage? OK. To do this, please send me a personal message (DM, WhatsApp, email) and tell me your individual factor. Here's an example: 

“I donate €2.00 per km run. That means a total of €500.00 for a total mileage of 250 km.” In this case, I will contact you after the race is over and you should then also make your donation here on  betterplace.org for this fundraising appeal. 

3.     Donate only when you reach the finish line 

You only want to donate if I reach the goal - a DNF (did not finish) does not count? Seriously? J Analogous to 2. you write me a short message (DM, WhatsApp, email), e.g. “I’m donating €150.00 as a finisher donation”. In this case too, I will contact you - of course only after you have successfully crossed the finish line - and require you to place the promised donation on  betterplace.org.
