The inclusive library of the Pfennigparade Foundation is a vibrant meeting place for people with and without disabilities. In its barrier-free environment, which includes features like online search for the hearing impaired, the focus is on community and personal consultation.
This unique library is not only physically accessible but also caters specifically to the needs of people with disabilities. It offers travel guides for individuals with disabilities, legal advice on disability rights, and medical literature, providing assistance and practical tips. With a collection that includes current children's books, young adult and audio books, magazines, and selected novels featuring protagonists with disabilities, it offers an escape from everyday life.
Visitors to the library experience successful inclusion, aiming to further lower the barriers between people with and without disabilities. Students from the Pfennigparade special education center, as well as those from neighboring districts, are encouraged to use this resource and feel welcome in every aspect.
As a new initiative, access to digital media through the so-called "Onleihe" (e-lending service) is being introduced. This expands the library's offerings, adding to the physical media lending with an additional electronic borrowing option.
Your donation can help ensure that the unique library of the Pfennigparade Foundation continues to be a dynamic place for people with and without disabilities to meet and interact.
