Climb for Climate

Im Hochgebirge ist der Klimawandel besonders sichtbar, das habe ich letztes Jahr auf meinen ersten Hochtouren gemerkt. Teilweise haben die Gletscher 100m an Dicke verloren und das Unglück an der Marmolada, wo 11 Menschen ums Leben kamen, hat gezeigt, was in den Alpen passiert, wenn es zu warm wird. Deshalb möchte ich meine erste 4000er Besteigung zum Anlass nehmen auf den Klimawandel aufmerksam zu machen und spenden zu sammeln die dann an Münchner Umweltschutzorganisationen gehen. Das Spendenziel entspricht der Höhe des Gran Paradiso im Aostatal, den wir in der ersten Juliwoche besteigen wollen. Der Gran Paradiso ist der höchste Berg der alleinig auf italienischem Boden steht und hat kurz vor dem Gipfel noch eine ganz interessante Passage. Bis dahin gibt es noch viel zu trainieren, denn pro 100 Höhenmetern verliert man 1% Sauerstoff und auch 1% der Leistung, daher möchte ich euch mitnehmen auf meine Reise zum ersten 4000er.

In the high mountains, climate change is particularly visible, I noticed that last year on my first alpine tours. Some of the glaciers have lost 100m of thickness and the accident at the Marmolada, where 11 people died, has shown what happens in the Alps when it gets too warm. Therefore I would like to take my first 4000m ascent as an opportunity to draw attention to climate change and to collect donations which will then go to Munich- based environmental protection organizations. The donation goal corresponds to the height of the Gran Paradiso in the Aosta Valley, which we want to climb in the first week of July. The Gran Paradiso is the highest mountain that stands alone on Italian soil and has a very interesting passage just before the summit. Until then there is still a lot to train, because per 100 meters of altitude you lose 1% oxygen and also 1% of power, so I want to take you on my journey to my first 4000m peak.
