What’s it about

 Share Christmas Joy

Christmas spirit is in the air and we are looking forward to the "quiet time". Together with our teams and guests, we want to show a sign of global solidarity and think of the people who have to face severe challenges in this pre-Christmas time, whose existence is threatened by the effects of war and climate change.

During Accor Solidarity Month, we collect donations for SOS Children's Villages in the Horn of Africa together with our guests.

This is how SOS Children's Villages are helping in the face of the hunger drought in East Africa:

- Securing basic needs: They provide children and their families with food, drinking water and hygiene items.

- Combating malnutrition: Special therapeutic food and nutritional supplements help malnourished children, nursing mothers and pregnant women regain their strength.

- Shelter and care: Families fleeing their home villages due to the drought in East Africa are taken in to shelters. Boys and girls who have been separated from their families during the crisis are cared for by staff in a protected environment.

- Building resilience to the climate crisis: Village communities are mobilised for tree planting activities and the establishment of kitchen gardens. This can improve food security, and trees also serve as erosion control.
