Education for children in Tuba (Ghana)

Dear all,

My name is Ana Rosa Goncalves Silva, I am 18 years old, and I just finished my German high school at the Karl-Theodor-v.-Dalberg-Gymnasium in Aschaffenburg.

From September on I volunteer for a one-year program of the Aminu Initiative e.V. Together with further 13 highly motivated young people I am travelling to a place nearby the Ghanaian capital Accra, to Tuba.

I will work with children and support the Ghanaian colleagues of the school residence hall “One Love Children’s Home”. The children are, among other things, orphans, that lost one or both parents, and social orphans. They stay in the residence hall during school period. During holiday season the children return to their relatives to keep the family contact. Currently there are around 19 children between 4- and 17-year-old in the "One Love Children's Home".

The Aminu Initiative aims to give the children a high-quality education, to ensure a good medical care and finally pave the way for a better future.

More than 1000 children per year do benefit from the social programs and the dedication of the Aminu Initiative.

 We will be two volunteers @ the One Love Children’s Home working with the children. Our focus will be on sports activities, playing games and support the children with their homework.

The voluntary year targets the intercultural exchange and the further education. In Ghana we will get to know a new cultural environment and we will meet lots of new people. This will widen our horizon significantly.

The costs of my stay will be funded 75% through the German Ministry for Economical Collaboration and Development and the remaining 25% have to be covered by the Aminu Initiative itself.

As the Aminu Initiative is a small organization and they intend to spend all the money on their social programs, I want to contribute in the same way to the most effective use of the money. Therefore I started this fund-raising event.

Of the 3,000 € needed, I collected already 1,000 €.

I would be very happy, if you donate and make my stay happen. So, we all together help the Aminu Initiative to further do good things to those ones of us that need it most.

Wollen wir zusammen was richtig Gutes machen?

Hallo zusammen! 
Ich heiße Ana Rosa und bin 18 Jahre alt. Ich habe in diesem Jahr mein Abitur absolviert und möchte nun ab September für 12 Monate in Ghana einen Freiwilligendienst leisten.

Ich werde mit der Aminu Initiative nach Ghana reisen, um dort die Mitarbeiter vor Ort in Tuba (in der Nähe der Hauptstadt Accra) in dem Schulwohnheim "One Love Children's home" für benachteiligte Kinder zu unterstützen. Die Kinder sind zwischen 4 und 17 Jahre alt und sind Waisen, Halbweisen oder Sozialweisen. 
Während der Schulzeit wohnen sie in dem Schulwohnheim und besuchen über die Ferien ihre Verwandten, um den familiären Kontakt zu halten. 
In dem Schulwohnheim möchten wir die Bildung der Kinder und ihre individuellen Fähigkeiten fördern, um ihnen bessere Bildungschancen zu ermöglichen.

Um das Projekt des Schulwohnheims in Ghana, die Organisation zu unterstützen und meinen Freiwilligendienst zu ermöglichen, benötige ich insgesamt 3000€. Ich freue mich riesig auf das Jahr in Ghana und die Zeit mit den Kindern.  

Ich habe mir die Aminu Organisation ausgesucht, da mir ihre Arbeit mit Kindern sehr am Herzen liegt. Sowohl ich als auch Aminu Initiative e.V. freuen uns über deine Unterstützung, denn wirklich jeder Beitrag hilft!

Warum ich dafür betterplace.org nutze? Das Spenden ist hier sicher und unkompliziert und ich kann euch über Updates auf dem Laufenden halten. Natürlich bekommt ihr Anfang nächsten Jahres auch eine Spendenbescheinigung für die Steuer.
