What’s it about

On Saturday, April 2, children from the German International School Washington preschool ("KiGa") will ride their bikes, balance bikes, or scooters for as many laps as they can in the parking lot of Potomac Presbyterian Church to raise money for two organizations helping people in Ukraine as well as those who have fled.

Money raised here will support Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, which is providing food, warm clothing, medicine, and other basic needs to people across Ukraine who are affected by the war, as well as medical assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Moldova.

You may click on the "Hilfe für die Ukraine (Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe)" link to read more about their project (in German), but please make sure to donate through *this* page (not directly on the Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe page) so that your donation may be counted toward the amount raised by our bike-a-thon.

There are two ways to donate:

(1) sponsor one of the KiGa children with a certain amount of pledged money per lap (and make the payment here after the bike-a-thon is completed on April 2)

(2) decide on an amount to donate, regardless of how many laps any of the children complete (in this case, the payment can also be made before April 2)

Thank you in advance for your donation!
