What’s it about

Hi everyone!

My name is Brian Le Pioufle (30 years old), living in Frankfurt, Germany. I am participating in the 20th Frankfurter Mainova Half Marathon 2022 on the 20th of March and targeting to finish it in less than 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Along with this personal goal, I would like to raise awareness and funds for the animal welfare organisation Pro Animale für Tiere in Not e.V. Founded in 1985, Pro Animale is an internationally active animal welfare organisation officially recognized as a charity in Germany. They are fully responsible daily for more than 3,400 animals (dogs, cats, horses, goats, donkeys, etc.) across five European countries and Turkey. Why and to whom funds will go to?

The animal condition matters to me as I had dogs and cats for my whole childhood and beyond. In addition, I have exchanged with Johanna and Natasha Wothke who shared with me organisational projects and challenges which showed me a daily commitment for our 4 legged friends.

One project in particular caught my attention: The sanctuary “Doris Zinn Herberge” which is based in Poland and built in 2018: Doris Zinn-Herberge - Pro Animale für Tiere in Not e. V. (pro-animale.de). This facility is welcoming about 60 ageing, sick and disabled dogs which have been rescued as part of the former chain dogs’ project. In order to give them a peaceful and healthier rest of life, I would like to raise at least 1,000€ from January 2022 till the date of the half Marathon (20th of March 2022).

How the funds will be used?

The funds will support the overall cost for the “Doris Zinn Herberge” sanctuary. As an information, the average monthly maintenance cost for a place like Doris Zinn Herberge is around 6,000€. Due to the ageing and sick dogs, the medication cost is an additional cost for the organisation, the estimate cost of medication for three Polish animal refuges is around 11,000€ a month.

Any support from your side (e.g. donating to this project, sharing on social media, communicating to your family and friends) will be much appreciated. I am looking forward to make this individual effort, a collective success to give a better life to dogs who suffered.

Hello everyone,
We did it ! We were able to gather 1000 Euros for the Pro Animale association thanks to all your contributions. Thank you very much for that !
On the sport side, the half marathon of Frankfurt has been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation in Germany. There is a virtual run but this atmosphere is not the same.
However, the challenge is still on ! I want to make this 21,1km under 1hour 45 minutes. Hence, I will be preparing a running route in the next days and try to complete my goal before June. I need to postpone the challenge by a couple of weeks as I am currently having some issues in my preparation due to ''runner`s knee'' disease.
Thank you all again for your support!! I am very happy for dogs and all volunteers from the association!
