What’s it about
Next month a group of colleagues at PATRIZIA will embark on a demanding 47-kilometer hike over two days across 24 peaks, including England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, in the Lake District National Park. Over the two days the group will climb over 3 kms, that’s the equivalent of 1,200 flights of stairs!!!
The money raised will support the PATRIZIA School Buyamba in Uganda, which is a primary school for children between ages 7 and 14 constructed in 2010 with the support of the PATRIZIA Foundation in one of the world’s poorest nations.
The money raised will support the PATRIZIA School Buyamba in Uganda, which is a primary school for children between ages 7 and 14 constructed in 2010 with the support of the PATRIZIA Foundation in one of the world’s poorest nations.
The school has been closed since 20th March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The students haven’t received any education since and haven’t had access to school meals either that many families relied upon.
The school facilities are currently not suitable for operation and significant work needs to happen to bring them back to a minimum standard before the school can open again.
It desperately needs more classrooms to provide learning space for a pupil count that’s grown from 500 to 860. The school also requires necessary adjustments to be implemented to enable the school to re-open safely with Covid-19 measures in place.
