Note added on Monday, September 14th: the initial fundraising target of 3333 Euro has been adjusted to 4444 Euros. 3333 Euro was our target for this fundraising activity and this was achieved today. Getting to school safely is a given for students in developed countries. However, for many children around the globe who live in less prosperous places, safe school transport is something they can only dream of.

Therefore, the project we are supporting aims to make this dream come true for some children in Uganda. With your help, we are designing, financing and building a solar ferry to reduce transport problems on Lake Bunyonyi and, most importantly get the children to their island school for free in a safe and environmentally friendly way.....powered by the sun .

Never having undertaken a challenge of this magnitude, Gerfried Kröger, Marc Deby, Volker Jaksch and Michael Bernhardt have committed to paddle their kayaks from September 11th to September 13th 2020 between Germany and Switzerland across Lake Constance. 3 days, 4 men, 4 kayaks and 33 kms per day.

During this epic challenge, we fully expect to experience many aches and pains and to discover muscles in our bodies that we never knew existed. However, the pain will quickly be forgotten thanks to your generous contributions that will help to raise in excess of our donation target and allow the children of the Bunyonyi Secondary school in Uganda to experience for the first time what many of our children take for granted.

Revised fundraising target of 4444 Euro overachieved

Great news! Thanks to all of your contributions we have now just passed the revised fundraising target of 4444 Euro (was 3333 Euro when we started) and have now collected 4494 Euro (about 5200 USD). All of your donations have been passed on to the main cause, the planning and construction of a solar ferry for safe school transportation at Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda.
