We are experiencing an unprecedented human rights, health and political catastrophe. In the face of the global corona pandemic, we must act in solidarity more than ever and support those who are particularly hard hit by this disaster. These include the elderly, the poor, the homeless, the immunocompromised and also people who have fled at our external borders.

In recent weeks, Greece and the EU have effectively abolished basic human rights and the right to asylum. People on the run are being shot at, and conditions in camps such as Moria remain deliberately inhumane because the EU wants to deter those seeking protection. There is lawlessness where solidarity and humanity are most urgently needed. The situation in the overcrowded camps is catastrophic, and everything is lacking: from medical aid to basic hygiene. Trapped and isolated on the islands, the people are helplessly exposed against the pandemic. The fact is that protective measures taken on the European mainland are simply impossible there.
In Germany and throughout Europe: We leave no one behind - not even at the external EU borders!
