Corona support Benin - mobile sinks and masks

Da ich die Bildungsprojekte der deutschen Studenteninitiative Weitblick e.V. und der NGO E.S.I. in Benin seit vielen Jahren kenne und kürzlich selbst als Freiwillige dort gearbeitet habe, möchte ich die langjährig bestehende Entwicklungszusammenarbeit mit dieser Spendenaktion in der aktuellen Corona-Krise unterstützen.
 
Neben anderen Bildungsprojekten wie der Beratung und Finanzierung von Start-ups oder dem Aufbau von Ausbildungszentren haben E.S.I. und Weitblick in den letzten Jahren mehrere Grundschulen mit messbarem Erfolg auf Bildungsebene und positiven Auswirkungen auf die Gemeinschaft gebaut. Diese befinden sich rund um ihre Gemeinde Dogbo im Südwesten von Benin.
Die Schulen haben derzeit keine Waschmöglichkeiten, die in der Corona-Krise besonders dringend sind, um die Ausbreitung des Virus durch vorbeugende Hygienemaßnahmen einzudämmen.
Darüber hinaus besteht angesichts der zunehmenden Verbreitung und der Kapazitäten des lokalen Gesundheitssystems die Notwendigkeit, vorbeugende Maßnahmen durch das Tragen von Mundschutz-Masken zu ergreifen.

Die Finanzierungsidee besteht daher darin, MOBILE WASCHBECKEN ZU BAUEN UND ZU VERTEILEN INKL. DER RESPEKTIVEN ERKLÄRUNG UND WARTUNG SOWIE MUNDSCHUTZ AUSZUHÄNDIGEN.
Wir haben 70 Standorte identifiziert, die Waschbecken benötigen. 36 Waschbecken werden von den Auszubildenden der Schweißerei, die Teil des NGO-Programms von ESI sind, für dich ich in Benin gearbeitet habe, gebaut. Die restlichen 34 werden von der lokalen Partner-NGO Fifame gebaut und bereitgestellt.
Die waschbaren Masken werden von verschiedenen lokalen Schneidern angefertigt.
Durch die Verteilung der Produktion auf verschiedene Anbieter können wir sicherstellen, dass zum einen alles schnell umgesetzt wird, aber gleichzeitig auch verschiedene kleine, lokale Unternehmen und NGOs der Dogbo-Gemeinde in der finanziellen Krise unterstützt werden.
Die Aushändigung und Organisation übernimmt die NGO E.S.I., während diese Spendenaktion v.a. die Material- und Fertigungskosten abdeckt.

Jeder Betrag wäre hilfreich und ich werde ihn auch persönlich auffüllen, um sicherzustellen, dass dieses Projekt so schnell wie möglich realisiert werden kann.

ENGLISH VERSION

Knowing the educational projects of the German student initiative Weitblick e.V. and the NGO E.S.I. located in Benin for many years and having worked for them myself recently as a volunteer, we would like to support them in the current Corona crisis.

 

Besides other educational projects such as consulting and financing start-ups or building up professional trainings, E.S.I. and Weitblick have built multiple primary schools in the past years with measureable success in education and community impact. Those are located around their commune Dogbo in the Southwest of Benin.

The schools do not have washrooms as of now which are in the current Corona crisis especially urgent to manage the spread of the virus through preventative hygiene.
Furthermore, with the increasing spread and the capacities of the local health system, there is a need to take preventative care using masks.

The funding idea is therefore to BUILD AND DISTRIBUTE MOBILE SINKS INCL. THE RESPECTIVE HYGIENCE EDUCATION AS WELL AS HANDING OUT WASHABLE MASKS.
We identified 50 locations that need sinks. 16 sinks will be build by the NGO E.S.I. that I volunteered for, specifically by the trainees of the welding shop that is part of the NGO program. The remaining 34 ones will be built and provided by the local partner NGO Fifame.
The masks will be sued by different local tailors. 
By spreading the production around different vendors we can ensure to get everything done quickly but also support different small local businesses and NGOs of the Dogbo commune.
The NGO E.S.I. takes care of handing out and organizing, while this fundraising campaign covers the material and manufacturing costs.

Any amount would be helpful and I will also personally fill up to ensure that this project will be realized as quickly as possible.
