das Silk Road Mountain Race startet in wenigen Tagen – am 15. August geht es los! Nach monatelanger Vorbereitung, intensivem Training und der erfolgreichen Generalprobe beim B-Hard Ultra Race bin ich endlich bereit für dieses außergewöhnliche Abenteuer in Kirgistan.

Dieses Rennen ist eine völlig neue Herausforderung für mich. Während ich beim B-Hard Ultra noch auf Asphalt unterwegs war, erwarten mich beim SRMR nun Hochgebirgsstrecken, Schotterpisten und raues Gelände auf bis zu 4.000 Metern Höhe. Es wird hart, es wird anspruchsvoll, es wird unforgettable.

Doch eines bleibt gleich: Euer Vertrauen und eure Unterstützung für das Straßenkinderprojekt in Malabon geben mir die Kraft, auch diese extreme Herausforderung anzunehmen.

Das Rennen führt mich durch abgelegenes Terrain, wo Mobilfunk oft Mangelware ist. Das Tracking erfolgt per Satellit, was bedeutet, dass mein Dot auch mal längere Zeit stillstehen kann – das ist völlig normal unter diesen Bedingungen.

Die Route zeigt euch, was mich erwartet – eine fantastische, aber auch anspruchsvolle Strecke.

An den Kontrollpunkten werde ich versuchen, ein paar Nachrichten, Fotos und Updates zu teilen. Garantieren kann ich das nicht, aber ich hoffe auf euer Verständnis für die besonderen Bedingungen dort oben.

Während ich in den Bergen Kirgistans um jeden Kilometer kämpfe, kämpfen 125 Straßenkinder in Malabon täglich um ihre Existenz. Sie leben unter extremsten Bedingungen – oft ohne Dach über dem Kopf, ohne gesicherte Mahlzeiten, oft ohne Hoffnung auf eine bessere Zukunft.

The Silk Road Mountain Race starts in just a few days—it kicks off on August 15! After months of preparation, intense training, and a successful dress rehearsal at the B-Hard Ultra Race, I’m finally ready for this extraordinary adventure in Kyrgyzstan.

This race is a completely new challenge for me. While I was still running on asphalt at the B-Hard Ultra, the SRMR now has me facing high-mountain trails, gravel roads, and rugged terrain at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters. It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be demanding, and it’s going to be unforgettable.

But one thing remains the same: Your trust and support for the street children’s project in Malabon give me the strength to take on this extreme challenge as well.

The race takes me through remote terrain where cell service is often scarce. Tracking is done via satellite, which means my Dot may sometimes remain stationary for extended periods—this is completely normal under these conditions.
