What’s it about
Hey there,
This year I would like to pledge my birthday to the non-profit organization 264.education - a project that some of my university friends are working on.
What is a birthday pledge?
Basically, it means that instead of people getting presents for me, I want them to donate to this project and support the building of schools in Nepal. Furthermore, I want to raise awareness with this cause. So please share this project with people after you donated so it reaches as many people out there as possible.
Not everyone has the fortune of being born in a world, where education is a normality, so it should be the aim of us lucky ones to support the many unfortunate ones.
What is 264.education?
264.education, short 264, is a non-profit organization that wants to provide every child with a fair chance in life — no matter where it is born. They do this by building schools all around the world.
What have they done so far?
After building classrooms for existing schools in Nepal , they have just opened their first school that they built from scratch - the New Vision Learning Academy - that enables 80 children to benefit from quality education in Chandisthan, Nepal. They have also launched a sponsorship program to help sustain the school and each kids progress.
Check out there website for more information: https://264.education and learn more about their current project here: https://www.betterplace.org/de/projects/63997-264-education-building-a-school-for-nepali-children
The purpose of this pledge is to raise funds to add more classrooms to the newly built school in order to enable even more kids from the community to go there.
Thank you for your support!
