Education for children in Sierra Leone and Liberia

Every child deserves the chance to go to school and learn. Last year I came to Sierra Leone to run the Marathon and could convince myself of the great work Street Child is doing. And even though I am not participating in the race this year I still want to raise money for their projects to bring more kids access to education in Sierra Leone and Liberia. Street Child focuses on low-cost sustainable solutions that make a real difference to the children they support. Since 2008, they have helped over 100,000 children to go to school and learn and supported over 15,000 families to set up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children long-term. Where your money goes: £10 can provide a school uniform £30 can send a child to primary school for a year. £100 can provide textbooks for a whole classroom of children in a rural school. £250 can provide a mother with a business grant and training so they can afford to send their children to school £500 can fund training for 10 teachers and raise teaching standards £1000 can provide all the necessary classroom furniture and resources for a village school £2000+ Funds the construction of a first-ever temporary class-room or mini-’school’ in a rural village.
