“Thanks Street Child, keep up your good work! With the support of the "3rd ECSS Bengt Saltin Run" Street Child will fund a project like e.g. the "Sports and Recreation Programm" in Sierra Leone. This after school program aims to engage children in organised sports and recreational activities. Team activities and sports have proven social, psychological and health benefits and is a great way to build confidence. It also allows children to exercise their right to play. By engaging young people in such activities, the programme will work towards creating a safe, creative and fun environment for children outside of school hours. In particular the program will attempt to engage more girls in sports and be a space that is both sensitive to and mindful of gender complexities. Our hope is that team sports and group activities can be something for everyone! With the 300 EUR donation goal we will donate the equivalent of for example a one year program for about 60 kids in Sierra Leone.”

What’s it about

At Street Child we believe every child deserves the chance to go to school. We work in West Africa and Nepal helping vulnerable children to go to school and stay there.
