What’s it about
September 2017 heißt es für meinen Kollegen Dennis Kögel und mich: Der Berg ruft! wir steigen auf den Kilimanjaro - und das für einen guten Zweck:
Wir wollen die technische Bildung der Kinder fördern.
In Kooperation mit dem Herder Gymnasium Köln möchten wir
kostenlose Programmierworkshops für Kinder im Alter von 10 bis 14 Jahren anbieten.
Für den ersten Workshop im Juli werden uns die Räumlichkeiten des Gymnasiums zur Verfügung gestellt, sowie Lego Mindstorms Roboter.
Dennoch benötigen wir noch Unterstützung, um
- Die Kinder und Helfer während des ganztägigen Events mit Essen und Getränken zu versorgen
- Den Kindern ein Arduino oder Raspberry Pi Starter-Set mitzugeben, damit zu Hause direkt weitergearbeitet werden kann
- Die Kosten für Event-Shirts, Sticker und andere Matieralien zu decken
Der Workshops ist nicht ausschließlich für Schüler des Gymnasiums, sondern auch
für Kinder aus Heimen und Flüchtlingskinder in Deutschland.
Die Kinder lernen ein lösungsorientierten Umgang mit innovativer Technik, Kretivität im Umgang mit Computern und werden somit für zukunftsorientierte Berufsfelder gefördert:
- Robotik mit Lego Mindstorms
- Stromkreisläufe basteln
- Spiele programmieren mit Scratch

The mountain is calling. September 2017 my colleague and I are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
to support the technical education of children
Coding is about the opportunity to create something, and be a smart user of technology.
What we need is kids learning about computers in greater detail to equip the future generation whatever they choose as a career.
In cooperation with the Herder School in Cologne
We will organise the first coding workshop in July for around
50 kids between the ages of 10 and 14
The school provides us with the facilities and more Lego Mindstorm robots.
However, we need further support to
- provide food and drinks for the volunteers, coaches and the kids
- to give the children a Arduino or Raspberry Pi Starter Set after the workhsop so that they can continue coding at home
- Shirts and other materials
The workshop is divide in 3 parts:
- Robotics with LegoMindstorm robots
- Make a electricity circuit
- Program a game with Scrath
