What’s it about
Russell, ein guter Freund, startet Ende Juli zusammen mit seinem Bruder Phil eine Fahrrad-Spendenfahrt von Ashford (England) nach Bammental bei Heidelberg.
Die Krebserkrankungen seines Schwagers Tom sowie unserer Tochter Milla sind der Anlass für die rund 800 km lange Tour. Start ist am letzten Juli Wochenende, geplante Ankunft in Heidelberg am 5. August.
Das Ziel ist es, Aufmerksamkeit auf Projekte zu lenken, die aus unserer Erfahrung heraus den Betroffenen und ihren Familien helfen, sei es medizinisch oder psychologisch. Um diese Angebote aufrecht zu erhalten sind Spenden unerlässlich. Dazu möchten wir mit beitragen und bitten um Spenden.
Neben dem Annaverein werden wir evtl. noch einige andere Projekte vorstellen.

Tom (Russell's brother in law) diagnosed with and fighting Neuro-endocrine cancer since September 2014.
Milla (4 year old daughter of family friends) diagnosed with and fighting Embryonal Tumour with Abundant Neuropil and True Rosettes, an extremely aggressive brain cancer that affects mainly young children, since August 2015.
Tom and Milla and their stories, are our inspiration and focus and the reason behind the challenge to ride our bicycles from the home of Tom (in Ashford, Kent, England) to the home of Milla (in Bammental, near Heidelberg, Germany), around 500 miles or 800 km.

The aim is to raise awareness and money for three great charities that have played, a hugely important role in providing medical and emotional support for Tom, Milla and their families:
Cancer Research UK - whose mission is to see three quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years. Website: https://www.cruk.org
We (Phil & Russell) will be taking up this challenge, beginning on the last weekend in July and hoping to complete our journey 7 days later on the 5th August. We hope the above stories and the challenge we have set ourselves might prompt you to give generously in support of these causes.
