I'll run for a soup kitchen in Elena - pls donate!

Never been a runner (always a dreamer), so I finally took up a challenge to run a 1/2 marathon on 22 May this year in Pleven, Bulgaria http://plevenmarathon.com/en/. I am slightly terrified that I won't finish and that I've bitten off more than I can chew but hey, there's no better way to find out than get out there are run!

What motivates me is 1) to see if I can do it and 2) the empathy and concern I have for people without food and without the opportunities to earn enough to live well. Bulgaria has not yet had the national discussion about basic income that's happening elsewhere and the country does not have the financial or organisational capacity to care adequately for its underprivileged communities and individuals. Hence, my choice to support the soup kitchen in Elena and meet the people there. A small-scale support campaign might seem like a drop in the ocean or like a second-tier avenue to tackle the issue but we all know that every little bit helps. So please do support my effort by donating and spreading the word.
