Anniversaire Happy Quentin 25

L’anniversaire de Quentin arrive à grands pas et je dois lui trouver un cadeau d’anniversaire de dingue, vu qu’il a mis la barre haute en m’en offrant un incroyable pour le mien. Comme vous l’avez sans doute tous remarqué, Quentin est devenu beaucoup moins matérialiste depuis son retour de voyage en Amérique du Sud ; ce qui est génial, mais qui rend difficile la tâche de lui trouver un cadeau parfait.

J’ai donc décidé de faire équipe avec Intiwawa, l’association dans laquelle il a été bénévole pendant presque quatre mois l’an dernier. Intiwawa est une ONG qui travaille avec les enfants de San Isidro, un village très pauvre dans le sud du Pérou. Ils proposent un accompagnement à la scolarité pour les enfants et des activités divertissantes. Beaucoup d’entre eux finiront par suivre le chemin de leurs parents en travaillant dans des ateliers de confection de briques dans leur village, le tout dans des conditions très difficiles et un salaire minuscule. Certains enfants risquent même de commencer ce travail prématurément pour aider leurs parents ; les lois sur le travail des enfants sont peu appliquées à San Isidro.

Mon projet est de lever un petit peu d’argent pour acheter un petit cadeau à chaque enfant qui participe aux actions d’Intiwawa. Ils n’ont pas grand-chose à eux, et je crois que posséder un petit jouet à soi apporterait un grand sourire sur leurs visages. Ces enfants étaient très importants aux yeux de Quentin et je suis sûre qu’il serait touché de savoir que ses amis et sa famille se sont mobilisés pour les aider.

Si chacun d’entre vous ne donnait que 5€, ce serait plus que suffisant pour acheter à chaque enfant un cadeau. Ce n’est pas énorme : un petit peu moins qu’une bière dans un bar en France. Si vous en avez les moyens et l’envie, vous pouvez donner plus, ou si vous êtes en difficulté, vous pouvez donner moins. J’aimerais beaucoup que vous puissiez donner, peu importe combien, ne serait-ce qu’un joli « Joyeux anniversaire Quentin ! »

L’argent levé ira entièrement à Intiwawa. Les bénévoles au Pérou l’utiliseront pour acheter les cadeaux et s’il reste de l’argent, ils l’utiliseront pour financer d’autres projets qui bénéficieront directement aux enfants. Les bénévoles au Pérou feront également une vidéo quand ils distribueront les cadeaux et j’essaierai de bricoler un truc pour le montrer à Quentin à son anniversaire.

Quentin’s birthday is coming up very soon and I need to give him an awesome birthday present, since he set the bar high by giving me an amazing one on my birthday. As all of you have probably seen, Quentin has become very non materialistic after his trip to South America, which is great, but also difficult for finding a perfect gift.
So, I have decided to team up with Intiwawa, the association he volunteered at last year for almost 4 months. Intiwawa is an NGO that works with children from San Isidro, a very poor town in the south of Peru. They provide the children with homework help and fun activities. Many of them will end up working in the brickmaking factories in the town as most of their parents do in harsh conditions and very little pay. Some children may even start working there soon to help out their parents, the child labour laws are not highly enforced in San Isidro.
My project is to raise a bit of money to buy each child participating in the Intiwawa program a small present. They don’t have very many possessions of their own, and I think getting a small toy of their own would bring a big smile to their faces. Quentin cared so much about these children, and I’m sure he would be touched knowing that his friends and family have come together to help them.
If each of you gave only 5€, that would be more than enough to buy each child a present. It’s not so much! A bit less than a beer would be in a bar in France ☺. If you have the means and the will, you can give more, or if I’ve you’re a bit poor right, you can give less. I would really appreciate whatever you give, even if it’s only a nice « Happy Birthday Quentin ! »
The money raised will all go to Intiwawa, the volunteers in Peru will use it to buy the presents and if there is money left over, they will use it to fund other projects that will directly benefit the children. The volunteers in Peru will also make a video when they hand out the presents and I will attempt to put something together to show to Quentin on his birthday.
