What’s it about
Join us for the Mizuno Half Marathon in Amsterdam on the 18.10.2015 and raise money and awareness for leukemia!
Every 16 minutes, someone in Germany is diagnosed with leukemia. Stem cell donations are the only chance for many patients, including many children and young people. However, the chance of finding a suitable donor is very low. Therefore, the more people who register and would potentially become donors, the higher the likelihood that a person is a suitable match. We want to raise awareness for stem cell donation, which can save lives and usually (80% of cases) consists of no more than a painless blood drawing from the donor. In severe cases, donors can opt to donate bone marrow, extracted from the hip under general anesthesia.
However, not only awareness, but also funding is needed by the donor organizations. Therefore, we want to raise money during our run to support these organizations. 100% of all money goes to the organization.
We will support the Dutch europdonor and German DKMS stem cell donor organizations with our run.

and ask your parents, friends and anyone who wants to be part of this to either donate, run and/or register in the donor database.
