Running Water - Katja läuft für fließendes Wasser!

Liebe Freunde, Familie, Mit-Studenten, Kollegen, AIESECer - my English-speaking friends please read below-

Wer von euch will mich schwitzen sehen? Bald kommt DIE Gelegenheit dazu:
Am 12. Juni laufe ich gemeinsam mit meinem AWESEOME Team von betterplace.org beim Berliner Firmenlauf mit.
Warum ich das tu? Neben dem Spaß und der sportlichen Ambition geht es vor allem um eins: ein Projekt zu unterstützen, das mir sehr am Herzen liegt.
Das Projekt in Ghana, an das das gesammelte Geld gehen soll, geht auf meine Freundin und Mit-Studentin Resi zurück. Nach einem 6-monatigen Ghana-Aufenthalt hat sie hier in Deutschland den Verein „Waisenhaus Tamale e.V.“ ins Leben gerufen. Resi erzählt immer gern mit leuchtenden Augen von den Kids in Ghana – was mich natürlich auch an meine Zeit im Süden Afrikas erinnert.
Was ich an diesem Projekt so besonders toll finde? Dass es nachhaltig angelegt ist und nicht dem Grundsatz „lasst uns Geld auf’s Problem schmeißen“ folgt. In diesem Fall geht es um eine langfristige Wasser- und Stromversorgung für das Waisenhaus in Ghana, sodass das ebenfalls von Resi’s Verein erbaute Haus günstig, ressourcenschonend und ohne Gesundheitsrisiken versorgt werden kann.
Nun also meine Bitte an euch: Unterstützt mein sportliches Vorhaben durch eine Spende! Der Betrag ist dabei ganz egal, aber fasst euch ein Herz und macht mit!
Ihr könnt das ganz bequem von zu Hause aus tun, ich laufe die 6 Kilometer für euch! Deal?

This is your chance to do so – or at least virtually – support my plan:
On 12th June I will run at Berliner Firmenlauf with my AWESOME team from betterplace.org. I am not only running for a sportive cause, but for a good one as well:
The project I am vouching for is particularly dear to me because my good friend and fellow student Resi is personally involved in the project in Ghana: she founded the association “Waisenhaus Tamale e.V.” after spending time on site and seeing the needs of the kids at the orphanage. When Resi is talking about the kids in Ghana I cannot only see the sparkle in her eyes, I always find myself reminiscing about the time I spent in the south of Africa.
What I like about the approach is that it is sustainable and doesn’t go by “let’s throw money at the problem”. In this case the money is needed for a sustainable water and power supply for the built house, that was also financed by Resi's association and makes the home more independent from donations.
So here comes my plea: support my sportive undertaking with a donation! The amount does not matter, it’s about the little deed that counts.
Don’t you worry, you can stay on your comfy couch while doing so, I will run the 6K for you! Are you in?
