Corinna’s fundraising event: commit + act center

I'm running in the Dublin half-marathon in Phoenix Park on 20th September to raise much-needed funds for our commit + act center in Sierra Leone. commit + act is making an impact in different areas related to our counseling and training work, like prevention of female gender mutilation in cooperation with the Waries Dirie Foundation, and now Ebola Prevention with the use of ProSocial and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques. In the region of our center, Bo area, commit + act has become the acknowledged leader for Ebola education and prevention, supported by the Regional Health Administration.

Your support will help us to maintain our center, where we counsel local people affected by a range of issues, raise awareness about mental health, train local NGO workers in validated therapeutic techniques (e.g., ACT), and provide ongoing supervision and support to a large network of trained counselors across different regions in Sierra Leone.
