What’s it about
Liebe Freunde, Verwandte, Bekannte und liebe Unterstützer!
Seit ich 2012 schon einmal für 9 Wochen in Ghana Freiwilligenarbeit geleistet habe, bestand für mich der Wunsch noch einmal nach Afrika zu gehen.
Dieses Jahr ist es so weit!
Am 21. Juli fliege ich mit einem engagierten Team aus Frankfurt nach Goma.
Was ist Goma für eine Stadt?
Goma liegt in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo und liegt an der Grenze zu Ruanda.
Goma ist eine Stadt, der auch in jüngster Geschichte viel Schlimmes widerfahren ist.
Goma ist eine Flüchtlingsstadt.
(1994 war ein großer Genozid in Ruanda, der eine sehr hohe Flüchtlingswelle ausgelöst hat).
Goma war ein Schauplatz der Bürgerkriege im Kongo 1997/1998.
Goma wurde 2002 von dem Vulkanausbruch des Nyiragongo stark getroffen.
Gomas Stadtbild ist heute noch von dem Lavagestein geprägt.
Goma wurde 2008 Opfer einer Offensive von Tutsi-Rebellen.
Goma wurde 2012 von den Rebellen der M23 eingenommen.
Mittlerweile hat sich die Lage in Goma stabilisiert. Goma ist nicht mehr akut von Rebellen bedroht.
Aber den Menschen fehlt es an vielem - deshalb wollen wir unseren Beitrag leisten, ein Stück Himmel auf Erden nach Goma zu bringen!
1992 gründete Dr. Richard Zanner die Schule „Zanner Institute“ in Goma (Demokratische Republik Kongo). Sein Ziel ist bis heute: Kindern helfen, die keine Chance auf Bildung haben (Waisenkinder, Straßenkinder und andere hilfsbedürftige Kinder).Das „Zanner Institute“ möchte Kindern trotz dieser schwierigen Rahmenbedingungen eine gute Bildung ermöglichen. Mittlerweile werden 650 Kinder unterrichtet und die Schule plant eine Ausweitung ihres Angebots – mit einer Sekundarstufe für insgesamt 1.200 Kinder (Schritt 1), langfristig ist sogar eine Universität geplant (Schritt 2).
Was mache ich genau dort?
Ich bin zuständig für einen Großteil der Organisation. Für die Gruppe habe ich alle Flüge gebucht, die Visa beantragt, Treffen organisiert und gemeinsam mit unserem Freund Balibanga in Goma unseren Aufenthalt geplant. Gerade bin ich dabei unsere Fracht an Sachspenden zu organisieren.
Vor Ort werde ich mich vor allem in unserem Kids- und Youth-Camp engagieren :) (da werden dann meine pädagogischen und musikalischen Fähigkeiten zum Einsatz kommen ;) ).
Alles mache ich komplett ehrenamtlich und auch für die Reisekosten komme ich selbst auf.
Was könnt ihr tun?
Geniert euch nicht auch kleine Beträge zu spenden! Selbst wenn es nur 5 € sind! Wir brauchen jeden von euch!
Wir benötigen auch Sachspenden (Bis Anfang/Mitte Juli)! Vor allem benötigen wir Laptops, SD-Karten und USB-Sticks, sowie Schulmaterialien (Hefte, Stifte, Blöcke, Landkarten, französischsprachige Bücher, Spiele...) und Hygieneartikel.
Wir freuen uns über jede Spende. Bei den Sachspenden bedenkt bitte, dass wir pro kg 3,49€ Fracht zahlen!
(Ich komme auch nochmal mit Auto in den Westerwald und kann Spenden einsammeln!)
ICH WÜRDE MICH RIESIG FREUEN, WENN IHR MIR HELFT GELD FÜR DIE SCHULE ZU SAMMELN (Kauf neuer Schulbänke, Sanierung des Gebäudes).

Since I volunteered in Ghana for nine weeks (2012), it was my desire to go to Africa again.
This year I will go again. I'm going to the Democratic Republic of Congo!
On July 21 I fly with a dedicated team from Frankfurt to Goma.
What's Goma for a city?
Goma is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is located on the border to Rwanda.
Goma is a city that has befallen many bad things even in recent history.
Goma is a refugee city.
(1994 was a great genocide in Rwanda, that triggered a very high wave of refugees).
Goma was a scene of civil wars in the Congo 1997/1998.
Goma has been hit hard by the eruption of the Nyiragongo in 2002.
Goma's cityscape is still affected by the lava rock.
Goma was the victim of an offensive by Tutsi rebels in 2008.
Goma was captured by the rebels of the M23 in 2012.
Meanwhile, the situation in Goma is better. Goma is no longer acutely threatened by rebels.
But the people lack many things - that's why we want to do our part to bring a piece of heaven on earth to Goma!
In 1992, Dr. Richard Zanner found the school "Zanner Institute" in Goma (Democratic Republic of Congo). His aim is to this day, and I know him well: to help children who have no chance of education (orphans, street children and other vulnerable children). The "Zanner institutions" would enable children a good education despite these difficult conditions. Meanwhile, 650 children are taught and the school plans to expand their offering - with a secondary for a total of 1,200 children (step 1), the long term is even a university (step 2).
What do I do exactly?
I am responsible for a large part of the organization. For the group I booked all the flights, requested the visa, organized and organize meetings and plan our stay together with our friend Balibanga from Goma. At the moment I'm busy to organize our cargo.
In Goma I will especially work in our kids and youth camp :).
Everything I'm doing is on a completely voluntary basis!
What can you do?
Do not be embarrassed to donate even small amounts! Even if it is only 5 €/$! We need each of you!
I WOULD BE VERY HAPPY, IF YOU WOULD HELP US TO HELP!
(purchase of new school desks, renovation of the building).
