Michael School is one of our project school, it is located in Nzoia, 26 Kms from Matunda town. Michael School has 170 children who most of them live in abject poverty. Our donors and well wishers have been raising 10 Euros a month which has been facilitating the education of 30 pupils. The NGO has also been occasionally facilitating the children to have porridge during break times, this has however not been consistent, the porridge has been very helpful in children's life in school since to some this has been the only meal, there is nothing to eat at home, in most cases the children stay with their sickly grandparents, after their parents died or remarried.
I remember one of the saddest story of all time is when I heard that a child died due hunger in Nzoia, this happened two months ago and collectively this situation and others have given birth to this fundraising event to feed the children
As Patoipa e.V we have launched a feeding programme that kicked off this June-2014, we are raising funds to buy maize and beans in the short run to feed the children then in the middle and long term we are intending to lease out a 10 acre piece of land in Kitale to plant maize and beans to generate enough food for our two project schools
