“Lieber Thomas,
What’s it about
In South Africa alone there are 2 million HIV orphans, single or double orphaned!
These kids are in deep need and need support from the outside. These kids have serious problems: No parents, no income, bad housing, no access to grants, not accepted at school, prone to be chronically raped, abused and misused. The Hugo Tempelman Foundation (http://www.hugo-tempelman-stiftung.de/ ) has developed an umbrella program for these kids that works from the bottom up to actualization of the child to bring safety and security through household improvements or new housing. Food, water and clothing through water programs - access to water, food through vegetable gardening and proper clothing through donations.
When these basic needs are secured we start to work on the individual sens of belonging: bring it back to school and guide the process of the backlog through after school programs. Selfesteem being created throught the achievements at school, in the choir etc. And finally this child needs to actualise its talents through programs leading to becoming a functional citizen of this country who is able to look after himself in a responsible manner
These kids are in deep needs!
So what is the challenge? To raise money for these children I will participate on the 3rd. August 2014 in a long distance triathlon. For more information please visit my website: www.charitychallenge.tv
Many Thanks in the name of the children!
