What’s it about
First, there was the idea of running a half marathon. Then, my Comenius Assistantship in Norway seemed to be the perfect time and place. So I signed up for a half marathon in Oslo on the 31st of May, 2014.
Having to worry about my monthly budget for the first time in my life, I thought it might be a good idea to make this half marathon a run for a good cause and share some of our wealth.
As I am staying in Norway with an educational mission, I wanted the projects benefitting from my run to be connected to education in some way.
Out of many great projects I have chosen one that focuses on planting fruit trees for schools in Uganda. While this might not be the curbing-illiteracy-campaign I had in mind when I set up this page, I think it is a worthy cause.
I set a fundraising goal of 300€ for this event, because I feel that it is a lot of money and it will be difficult to reach that amount, yet there's so much good that can come out of it.
