HELP REBECCA TO HAVE SURGERY

Thank you for visiting my page at betterplace.org! My name is Rebecca and I'm an spanish girl aged 28. Since 2007 i suffer a medical condition in my left leg, called lymphedema which is a debilitating progressive condition. Lymphedema is caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system. The blockage prevents lymph fluid from draining well, and as the fluid builds up, the swelling continues.

Lymphedema symptoms include:
-Swelling of the leg
-Hardening and thickening of the skin (fibrosis)
-Feeling of heaviness/tightness.
-Aching or discomfort (pains in the joints: ankle)
-Decreased movement in the limb.
-Redness and increased warmth
-Recurring (and dangerous) infections in the affected limb (Even a minor injury to the skin or insect bite can cause severe infection)
- Intolerance to heat (climatic in summer, saunas, baths...)
- Difficulty to find shoes and clothes which fit properly.
- More limited daily lifestyle and a reduced working capability.

All this symptons tend to increase with the years. Until now, the only existing treatments were pallative in order to prevent the illness to progress.This treatments are bandages, lymphatic drainage weekly, and compression stockings made to measure in ortophedics.Thanks to the advacement of science, now there is a surgery technique called microsurgical lymphatic-venous anastomosis,which can improve the condition until 80%. I'm suitable for doing this surgery and improving my quality of life. The surgery costs 25.000 euros (about 32.400 $). The doctor said that i need to do this surgery as soon as possible, because as time passes the improvement rate opportunities of success are less (%), because the condition becomes more fibrotic and stopple the only 2 or 3 lymphatic cannals which are suitable in my case.
