We want to support 446 Orphanes and poor children (age: 5-20 years) in the province of Banteay Meanchey in the North-West of Cambodia, by giving them food and the possibility to go to a school. Most of the children lost their parents and don´t even have enough money to pay the official school tuition fee of 300 Riel per month (1,50 €!!!).

  In March, 2009, I traveled to Tavong Village in Cambodia in order to visit the POC. I was on a mission to find out of there were any ways I could help out. When I first arrived, I met with Sophean in Siem Reap then took a shared taxi to the small village. I was welcomed with open arms by Sophean's family, neighbors and friends. Later, we walked to the school where I was able to meet some of the children, the other monks in the pagoda, the staff and even Philipp! I sat in on a few of the meetings, walked around the school to check on construction work on the old buildings and checked out the site of the new school! Later that evening, Sophean's mother made dinner for all of us and it was delicious! Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. It was truly an amazing day. I hope to visit again soon.

  Hallo, kann man eine Patenschaft für ein bestimmtes Kind übernehmen. Ich hätte so gerne ein kleines Patenkind, um das ich mich kümmern kann. Dieses Kind so wissen, es gibt jemanden, der zwar ganz weit weg lebt, aber der es lieb hat und es gerne eine lange Zeit begleiten will. Ich denke dies, könnte insbesondere für Waisenkindern wichtig sein, da diese sonst ja meist niemanden anderes haben.
