Welcome to CADR'A F.I.L.M.S., an independent training center for audio-visual TV production in the course of incorporation, in Bonendalé, a village close to Douala/Cameroon.

Notwithstanding the fact that since 1990 an era of liberalization in social communication in Cameroon opened officially, up to now – almost two decades later - the civil society has still no resources, no equipment to break the monopoly of state propaganda.

Starting back in 1999 we formed a number of young professionals for the sector which is more and more expanding - audio-visual TV production by implementing the method “learning by doing” and working in highly successful Cameroonian TV productions like JUST FOR FUN und CITÉ CAMPUS.

Since 2003 F.I.L.M.S. is supporting the approach of creative work, education, production and broadcast. By establishing CADR'A F.I.L.M.S. as a training and production center we facilitate a communicative and esthetically innovative approach, which will aid effectively to overcome ethnic barriers and convey an image of strong citizenship and establishing CADR'A F.I.L.M.S. as a center of regional importance for West and Central Africa.

In late 2007 we started the production of the second Cameroonian Sitcom RETROUVAILLES BAR CHEZ NOUS, which is broadcasted and gaining popular success. We still have a long way to go and invite technicians, young people with a degree for TV production or related studies, experienced professionals worldwide to be part of our training efforts in Bonendalé on the banks of the Wouri estuary.

Just the perfect place to a launch such a great project ! I was there yesterday. Bonendalé is the kind of place where all kind of great ideas can surge for films and videos. A TV/film training Center is a real need in Cameroon ...for two reasons. The last movie theatre closed this year, I think that boosting the offer of images could help authorities to react. Moreover, the offer of Cameroonese TV program is still a little weak and need to be fueled.

I come from Bonendalé, the village close to Douala in Cameroon where Vincent Ndoumbe and his team were shooting the television series “Retrouvailles Bar Chez Nous“ for a number of months until September 2008. Our whole village had the privilege to follow their work due to the fact that the team worked most of the time in open air. We all admired the enthusiasm of the team and their dedication. We would count ourselves lucky if CAD’RA F.I.L.M.S. would be reality one day.

It is so wonderfull to know what you are doing Vincent. it sounds very interesting and we have been watching the new programme "Retrouvailles Bar de chez" on the Cameroon national television. It is true that it depicts the reality of what we live in our society today, but I would still want you to give me some clarifications on the following:- How did you get the idea of bringing out this particular programme?- How do you cope with the members of your group? They are quite many and you are just an individual. How do you manage to accomodate them, feed them and even transport yourselves to the various places where you are doing the "tournage"? Good luckMary Nyuyinwi

For all German readers you will find the answer to Mary’s questions translated into German in our blog “ Warum eine Bar?
