Casa do Caminho looks for enthusiastic volunteers that like to work with and around children. You will be working in a dynamic carefully selected group of international volunteers and Brazilian staff. Casa do Caminho gives volunteers a chance to really work with our children. You will receive a well prepared training program. During the selection phase you can select one or more main responsibilities such as educator, teacher, maintenance, volunteer coordinator, volunteer selection coordinator, medical coordinator, organic farming, ICT, psicologist. You can also select whether you prefer to work in our teenager houses or work with our smaller children.

Our volunteer program is 100% free. You receive food and accomodation in exchange for you services. This also means that we expect a lot from volunteers. We expect volunteers to work as employees with clear responsibilities. Volunteers who want to have cheap accomodation and pass their holidays with us are not welcome.

This has the great advantage that we have a dynamic group of volunteers all working hard togeteher. Each volunteers has 2 days free a week and many choose to go to Rio de Janeiro which is one hour by bus from Xerem.

You can check our website for more information. In case you want to get in touch with volunteers who worked here you could open an account in Orkut and get in touch with the Casa do Caminho community.

Requirements
The minimum age for volunteering is 21.
The minimum volunteer period is 6 months (max 2 years due to visa limitations)
You need to speak an intermediate level of portuguese prior to you arrival.
