Mbubeh Marie-Benedict, 11 years old, my niece, lived for all her life with her grandmother in Babungo/North West Province of Cameroon. Very often she had to stay away from school in order to take care of her sick Grandma, and spent most of her time helping to grow crops for home consumption. When my late elder sister died of AIDS in 2007 she and Amslem, the youngest son of my sister, have been taken into custody by me. Marie-Benedict enjoys attending school, she worked well in the term 2007/2008 and is moving to class 6, the last class in primary school. Your support will help her to have a brighter future.

Dear Mary, today I looked again on your project on betterplace and I would like to ask you: When will the school start? Can you expect further support besides betterplace? How are you dealing with this situation? Probably you can take my question as opportunity to write an actual blog! With warm regards Gabriele Mueller

My performance for the year 2007/2008 was just average. For the first term I had an average of 11.34 on twenty, during the second term I had an average of 12.92 on twenty meaning that I improved and during the third term I had an average of 8.56 average on 20 and this was because I was seriously sick. I had malaria during the time when we were writing so it was not that easy. So my annual average was 11.65 on 20 which means I am going to the next class which is form four. I have benefited from your donations last school year by paying it for my school fees which it has helped me to acquire good knowledge from this donations. I thank my donors who raised this sum to send me to school. I also thank them for paying the school fees of my brother Amslem Mbanyui and sister Marie-Benedict. I hope that you people are going to help us again this academic year. During my third term holidays I would like to prepare for the next academic year and also help my mother and grandmother in the house like cleaning the house, wash clothes and other family members and also take care of my junior sister, Ava-Joy Shira, like teaching her since she is preparing to go to school so that she will be well prepared and I am going to teach her so many new things. My mother Mary Nyuyinwi has sent a request for our school fees for next school year and I hope you shall help her so that she may help us. Wally
