Since 2006 AMANDLA Ku Lutsha [eng. Strength to Youth] has been providing services to youth in residential care in and around Cape Town using football as tool to educate children and provide a variety of life-skills, so creating young leaders and role models who influence their peers in a positive way. Additionally, AMANDLA is managing the Chris Campbell Memorial Field built in Khayelitsha and sponsored by the CTC Ten Foundation.

AMANDLA’s outreach:
• over 2500 youth on a weekly basis
• more than 30 childcare facilities are involved
• 3 Football Leagues playing over 550 matches
• more than 320 Life Skill Sessions

Key Objectives:
Teaching “life skills” and “life lessons”
through sport
• Bringing together different cultures and breaking down cultural barriers
• Developing Sporting Facilities like the Chris Campbell Memorial Field in Khayelithsa
• Providing a platform of dialog for young people
• Ensuring that youth assume a strong role in the management of the project
• Creating innovative and aware young role models
• Facilitating coaching and soccer training where youth can develop their skills
• Equipping young people with a set of skill which increase their career opportunities
• Providing travel opportunities for young people
