In cooperation with the Malawi Department of Forestry, the Wildlife Action Group Malawi initiated 1996 the Ecosystem Rehabilitation Project of the Thuma Forest Reserve, which covers today about 50 000 Hectares and probably is the best protected Forest Reserve in Malawi. With this and other projects, the Wildlife Action Group could proof that even small organizations can actively and professionally contribute significant to the conservation efforts and income generation in rural areas of a developing country.
The Wildlife Action Group International e.V. was founded to support existing projects in Africa, but also advises and supports other conservation efforts anywhere in developing countries.
The Wildlife Action Group International e.V. ( www.wildlifeactiongroup.org) is registered in Germany and has a recognized charitable status.
