 As we focus our energies to supporting the neediest children in the society, we encounter difficulties on a day to day basis. It is famine here and an enormous challenge for project implementation with minimum resources to support our initiatives. We are still faced with the challenge to provide the basic needs to these children. Your support guarantees the children with food, clothing including a school uniform, medical care and quality education. We feel honored for your continued support. Support LDK’s newsletter initiative

LDK has come up with a monthly newsletter for the local population. The first publication in print form is planned to come out in June 2009. A final version of the newsletter is almost ready. Among the topics covered include: Fundraising, the origins of charity (meant to educate the local population on the importance of charity), researched funding sources for local groups, giving hope to needy children … a life history, training opportunities, upcoming events and many more. The publication is not only meant to encourage and amplify the voices of those struggling for a more and just society but it is also meant to become a networking tool through information sharing. LDK hopes to raise the much needed funds for its charitable work through the sale of this publication locally. We are seeking supporting from friends and well wishers to enable us meet the initial production costs. Once the first issue is out it will sale and remain sustainable while at the same time supporting our charitable activities. Thank you very much for your support.

Share a meal with destitute children

Currently famine is rampant in Kenya, threatening the lives of ten million people. Food is scarce and prices are at the top, making life so hard for the ordinary Kenyan. Because Learning and Development Kenya works with those that are marginalized and poor, especially children youth and women, it finds it hard to effective serve these children in these hard times.

During the January enrollment most of the children admitted were from IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) currently still living outside the District Commissioners office. These children are rarely assured a meal a day and our effort to support them with a warm meal remains a challenge if we are not support.

Please share a meal with these children. We shall provide their photos as they eat the donated food to the sponsors / donors of the meals.
