Classrooms for slum children in India

Initially 2000 families were migrated from rural and urban areas in Guntur to this newly formed slum in the year 2006. At present 5000 families living together. This slum is situated about 12 kms from Guntur city. And 2kms distance from the main road High way No.5.

Unfortunately there are no proper infrastructure facilities provided by the government. Almost everyone in this slum is poor and doing daily wage works in the city. They don’t have good house, sufficient food as well as medical facilities.

The children are in dilemma as not able to go to schools and doing nothing, some elder children going to works to add income to their families and others are stay in the huts and become worthless. No proper care or education.

With great efforts of our organization finally we succeed to start a primary school here from August 2011 and continuously running in a hut. We have appointed 2 teachers and one care taker for this school and running in a long hunt in the slum.

All the families are very poor and they are not able to provide good meal to the children. Most of the children not eat in mornings and coming to the school with hungry stomachs and they are also affected with sickness. So we love to provide at least a single meal for every day to the children. Now we have 70 children in the rolls attending only 50 children. And 15 children are going for works and get their bread. And also children need good clothes and education material.

And also children urgently need safe classrooms to sit and get education. In this slum no big constructed houses available. Now we are running in a naked open hut. Two teacher are giving education to the 50 children in one long hut. Big winds and rain water disturbing the classes. So we also like to provide good classrooms for the children with all your support.

This school is a permanent need for all the out of school children in the slum. Therefore we love to continue the school for ever to fulfill all the needs of the children.
