The lack of food and environmental security represents one of the greatest threats to global political and economic stability in the 21st century.
With the number of people around the world suffering from hunger expected to reach nearly one billion by the end of this year, there is a continued urgency and moral imperative for tackling the problem. In the future, demand side pressures on agriculture will increase due to a rising population.
The key to unlocking food security challenge therefore lies in finding ways to sustainably increase the amount of food we produce by the continued entry of Young farmers. In order to better guarantee and increase the success of these young and future farmers as individuals and as a movement, it is vital that they receive all the training, tools, and knowledge available.
About The Project
The young and future farmers project seeks to holistically empower young people by creating the enabling environment for their significantly increased commitment, engagement and participation in productive farming operations and agri-business practices towards food security and the generation of reliable employment opportunities.
Project Purpose:
•To identify issues of concern and the challenges facing young and beginning farmers
•Develop solutions that work for young farmers
•Inspire young and beginning farmers to become active at the local level and
