Project report

Dear friends,

I would like to inform you that your project Basketball is successfully completed and I have also posted few photographs of our students enjoying their first intra Basketball competition held in the school on 19th June.

The overall picture of the school with Basketball court is also posted on the photographs section.

This project has bought great enthusiasm and it is a great entertainment for our students who never had an opportunity to play this game before in their life. Now some of our students have really picked up the game so fast and are helping others to play.  Girls too are taking interest to learn and play this game.

First match

Dear  friends,

Our warm greeting to you from the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan.

Yesterday we had our first Basketball match between staff and students. The day was marked with enthusiasm and excitement from both the players and spectators. Although it rained a bit yet everybody watched and enjoyed the first Basketball match formally conducted in our school. It is a great addition for our school and we are very happy with the coming up of this facility for our students. Please see some photographs attached of the first match in  the  photo  site.

At present we have 85 boys and 20 girls studying in the school.

Project update

Dear friends,

We would like to inform you that the construction of the Basketball court is finally completed day before yesterday. We apologies for not able to complete  under the given time that is before March 2010 as the land-scape and reaching all the raw materials to the site has to be done manually, thereby it has taken some time to complete.

We are very happy about this new additional facilities provided to our students and we are very pleased that it has come out very well. As you all can see in the photo we made an additional small wall to protect the incoming excess water from the field and have also made a drain above the wall. These two steps walls will also serve as a place to sit and watch the game.

We still need USD 700 to pay the labour charge for the Basketball court, we shall be very grateful if our supporters can help us with this amount. Our proposal for this court was $ 6177 and we have received till date $ 5652.

Updates

Dear Friends,

We would like to update you on the construction of the Basketball project. The project is coming out very well and it will be complete by end of this month.  Please see in our photo section for the latest update on the project. We have also attached the standard basketball lay out that is followed for our basketball construction.

For your kind information and update on the financial of this project:

The total proposal for this project was USD$ 6177. And we have received till date $ 5130 and $ 522, we still require balance USD$ 525 to complete the project.

Basketball Construction News

The construction of a standard Basketball court is underway.  We will update the progress of the project from time to time and also post some photographs. The project will be completed before the new academic session begins in March 2010. Some of the photographs of the ongoing work for this project are posted on the website.

All the students are very excited of the coming up of the basketball facilities in our school. The students will not only enjoy playing the sport but will help to keep them physically engaged and fit. The Basket ball court will be used by both boys and girls and will be utilized to its fullest.

The staff, students and management of CTAS would like to thank Berlin Basketball Team Alba and the energy company Vattenfall and all betterplace juniors for this gift to our school.

Project Status

Dear Alba Berlin Basketball Team, Energy Company Vattenfall and all the supporters and well wishers of betterplace,

On behalf of the school, I would like to thank you for the support!

We have received $5130 out of proposed budget $6177 in our school account. We would like to thank you very much for sending the fund to us. Due to heavy rainfall and excess water, the feeder road which connects our school has become very bad and therefore has caused delay in starting the project. However, we hope to start the work as soon as the road condition is little better. I will update the information on the blog.

Project updates

Dear Friends,

Greeting to everybody from Bhutan!

On Behalf of Choki Traditional art School, I would like to thank everybody for your effort and support extended for accomplishing this project for our school.  The school is located very close to Capital of Bhutan yet it still falls under a remote village and therefore has very limited physical recreational facilities.  Your supports for the construction of basketball will immensely help our students make best used of their leisure time and keep them healthy.

We would like to express our deepest respect and appreciation to the children of betterplace junior for the time and effort they have taken to sell the tickets during the basketbal match taken place in May between Alba Berlin and Oldenburg.

As soon as we get the fund we will start the work and we will update the news of the progress in the project blog.
