In our environmental center Serra da Capivara, we train young people in the areas of ecotourism, sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. In this context, digital and media skills are crucial qualifications for us! That's why we offer, among other things, computer science courses to give young people a real chance in the modern job market. At the moment, we are focusing on theory, but we all know that true skills only emerge through practice. Access to computers in the region is poor, basic skills such as writing an email, setting up a document or a spreadsheet are non-existent. We want to change that!
Many young people from northeastern Brazil continue to be drawn to the country's large metropolitan areas due to a lack of educational opportunities. There, the labor market is already overburdened and poverty neighborhoods continue to spread. Through the activities of our environmental center, we want to create incentives for the young population to stay in their own community, because the region around the Serra da Capivara offers great tourist and ecological potential.
Please support us to open the first internet café in the community. We already have a large building with plenty of space, as well as enough chairs. Now we only need tables, computers and a beamer!
