About this project
Bodu in 1750m is located in Solukhumbu, a remote district of Nepal. After the devastating earthquake in 2015 the local school was heavily damaged. In the period from November 2017 to April 2018 a new building was constructed by the association "Unsere Hilfe für Nepal" e.V. With the help of the association Nepalmed three new toilets could also be financed. After completion of the school in April 2018, in the following years the school's surroundings were secured and new furniture was procured.
The construction of a 2nd building should further increase the acceptance of the school. There will be 2 more classrooms and a school kitchen. From 2021 on, a member of the community will take over the supply of lunch and at the same time teach the children about nutrition.
By guaranteeing a warm lunch and teaching them how to handle food, a considerable step towards improving the living conditions of the pupils should be achieved.
